Dan Zircher

Much of the team has been together since shortly after the firm was founded more than a dozen years ago. Several M&A partners have held global C-level and senior operating roles in relevant industry sectors. This deep operating experience combined with extensive transaction expertise enables Marlin & Associates to provide an unparalleled level of strategic and financial advice to our clients as well as execution capability in nearly every conceivable situation.

Dan Zircher is an Executive Managing Director with 30 years of investment banking experience and part of the senior executive team. Dan views his role as assisting clients in building and maximizing shareholder value through long term strategic relationships.

Dan was previously a senior investment banker with Merrill Lynch, Mesirow Financial and Fox Pitt Kelton (and then Macquarie upon its acquisition of FPK). Mr. Zircher previously led his own fintech m&a advisory firm and developed a genuine appreciation for the entrepreneurial experience. Early in his career, he started as a CPA at Peat Marwick, and later as a manager in corporate finance for a fortune 500 Company. Dan has been responsible for numerous transactions for a variety of public and private companies including several cross-border deals. His focus with financial service and financial technology companies includes mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, private financing and public offerings as well as strategic advice to Board of Directors and private equity firms. His experience spans several financial segments including capital markets technology, data analytics, exchanges, asset management and trading, insurance companies, consumer finance, business software companies and recently in newer technologies for digital assets and machine learning/AI.

Dan is a mentor at the University of Chicago (Polsky Exchange) to help scholars and entrepreneurs from the University, Argonne & Fermilab Laboratories translate their ideas and new technologies into start-up businesses.

He is a registered securities principal and holds series 7, 63, and 79 licenses. He holds an accounting degree from Northern Illinois University and an MBA from DePaul University. He lives in Chicago with his wife, two sons and daughter and their dog. Dan enjoys travel and despite being tone-deaf is determined to learn a musical instrument one day.
